Since our inception, Wellish Vision Institute has expanded to four locations in Las Vegas and one in Henderson, Nevada. Our most recent expansion is a brand-new state-of-the-art clinic on Fort Apache Road in Las Vegas. We also have a surgery center attached to our location on Box Canyon Drive, which offers patients convenient and comfortable surgical care.
In the more than 25 years since we opened our doors, we have trained more than 100 local area eye doctors in all areas of laser vision correction. We are nationally recognized as a Dry Eye Center of Excellence and have achieved a perfect A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau.
On top of that, we are the only permanent on-site, all-laser LASIK center in Las Vegas owned and operated by a “Top Doc,” an honor given to Dr. Wellish by peer physicians. Our doctors have collectively performed thousands of LASIK and cataract surgeries. Dry eyes and glaucoma are two more of our specialties, as well as procedures like astigmatism correction, corneal transplants, and PRK surgery.

Our Doctors
The team of ophthalmologists and optometrists at Wellish Vision Institute are highly experienced and focused on providing the best possible patient care. Dr. Kent Wellish was Nevada’s first laser eye surgeon to perform laser vision correction and is currently Nevada’s leading corneal, cataract, and refractive surgeon.
Wellish Vision Institute is also supported by many talented physicians who share Dr. Wellish’s mission and are respected by both peers and patients.
William May, M.D. has expertise in cataract, cornea, and refractive surgery but has also developed extensive skills in caring for Dry Eye Disease. Dr. May is also our Cosmetic / Lid specialist within the practice. Dr. Tigran Kostanyan has experience in traditional and newer micro incisional glaucoma surgeries (MIGS), allowing him to personalize a surgical approach for each patient. Eissa Hanna, M.D. is the region’s only Stevens-Johnsons-TENS and GVHD ocular specialist. He is especially interested in premium multifocal and toric cataract cases, complex cataracts (traumatic, uveitic), IOL exchange, secondary IOL placement, phakic IOLs, and all the conditions normally treated at eye centers of higher-level care. Andrew Tran, M.D. specializes in diagnosing, monitoring, and treating patients with glaucoma and cataracts.
K.C. McCandless, O.D. is a caring and patient-focused optometrist, whose work has included helping to examine and distribute more than 15,000 pair of glasses to those in need. Matthew Chiapa, O.D. has a special interest in the management of ocular disease. Finally, Tiffany Nguyen, O.D., has clinical training in specialty contact lenses, keratoconus management, pediatrics, ocular diseases, cataracts, and dry eye management. Each of our providers is dedicated to helping patients achieve their best vision possible.
